Why Should I Sauna and Cold Plunge?

"Submerging in freezing water and sweating it out in the sauna." Some may say this is a bit of an unusual experience to pay for. While a bit outlandish if you have never heard of the concept, there are dozens of sauna and cold plunge facilities popping up across Canada. So what's the deal? Why pay for an experience that encourages you to be uncomfortable?

A great analogy would be exercise. Running is not an easy thing to do; however, across the globe millions of people run for pleasure as it provides your body with a healthy and natural "high" through effort and uncomfortably.

It seems a key formula for a healthy body and mind is to put your body through uncomfortable experiences, exercise being an obvious one, with sauna and cold plunging emerging as a clear addition to people's physical and mental health routines. Moreover, let's not kid ourselves, it's not like people begrudge their entire run. Running gets you outside, breathing in fresh air and enjoying the outdoors.

Just like there are enjoyable aspects of running, the feeling of warming back up in the sauna while drizzling water on the rocks to create a warm blanket of steam over your body is quite the euphoric experience! Even with our cold plunges, first-timers may yelp, shiver, or even cuss, but guess what? They always have a smile on their face when they are getting out of that freezing water! Why? Because they did something for the first time that is intimidating, and on-top of this, cold water immersion stimulates dopamine production which instantly improves your mood and mental clarity.

While there are countless other benefits to sauna and cold plunging, we wanted to emphasize the key reason why people are doing this, it simply makes them feel good. Your mental state levels up once you implement sauna and cold plunging as part of your routine. There's no beating around the bush after one of these sessions, you feel completely refreshed and recharged as you exit our doors. We can confidently say: it’s nearly impossible to have a bad day when you include a sauna and cold plunge session. Till next time.
